Bamboo is the cheapest thing on a site to build with and the easiest to get wrong. Untreated culms are borer food within a year, and a joint that traps rainwater rots from the inside while looking fine from outside.
What we handle
- Treated culms, specified by species and diameter for what they are carrying
- Joints and footings detailed to shed water and keep bamboo off wet ground
- Roof overhangs sized so the structure stays dry in monsoon rain
- Living bamboo planted as screening and grove, chosen for clumping rather than running habit
- A maintenance schedule, because bamboo needs one and concrete does not
Suited to cottages, walkways, gazebos and restaurant shells. We will say plainly where bamboo is the wrong answer and something else should carry the load.
