Hand watering keeps a garden alive and rarely lets it thrive. It is too much water in the easy places and not enough at the back, and it stops entirely the week the person who does it is away.
How a system is designed
- Zones set by need: lawn, beds and pots do not want the same amount or frequency
- Drip to beds and planters, sprinklers to lawn, because the wrong one wastes most of it
- Pressure and flow checked against the supply before anything is specified
- A controller timed for the hour before sunrise, when evaporation and disease risk are lowest
- A rain sensor, so the system is not watering through a downpour
Installed before paving where possible. Retrofitting into a finished garden is possible but costs more and leaves scars for a season.
